I can’t take many supplements so I have to source most of my nutrition from my food. Dried seaweed is one of my favourite sources of minerals because it is packed full of them – especially magnesium. I sprinkle Dulse Flakes over my vegetables, in rissoles and some other dishes. Wakame and Arame are fantastic in soups and stews. At first, when told about the benefits of seaweed I thought ‘Yuk – how horrible!’ but when I tasted some samples of soups cooked with it and I found the flavour to be subtle and delicious. Give sea vegetables a try – they are an easy to use, inexpensive and a highly nutritious food source.
